Why tears are important

- Why tears are important

Some people have built close to the water, then quickly break into tears. Others always bite your teeth together and never cry. But tears should not be suppressed.

"Weeping is important in order to process feelings. That's why tears should not be suppressed," says Dr. Jörg Lauterberg, doctor and psychologist at the AOK Bundesverband. "This applies to all people - regardless of age and sex."

First of all, have a protective tears to the eyes. The lacrimal fluid is constantly on the existing gland produces tears and forms a protective film that keeps the eye moist and dirt and dust wegspült. This is also the reason that our eyes "run" when they are irritated, for example by a foreign body: There are more tears produced by the intruder away.
